Canadian sealants maker Cliplight Manufacturing Co. has been bought by DiversiTech Corp. Terms were not disclosed.
Officials with Atlanta-based DiversiTech said the purchase will boost its research and development work and allow it to expand its territory. DiversiTech said its HVAC parts and accessories lineup could now include more sealants and leak-detection products for HVAC construction.
“This is a perfect marriage between two companies with complementary products and services that can be leveraged to the greater benefit of our HVAC wholesaler customers and contractors,” said Bud Sjogren, DiversiTech’s chief sales and marketing officer. “The entire leadership team and the employees of Cliplight are second to none. With them and all of Cliplight’s assets, we are furthering our mission of providing the widest selection of quality products to help our customers simplify the way they work.”
Founded in 1976, Cliplight invented SuperSeal, what it says was the HVAC industry’s first residential and commercial sealant. DiversiTech’s purchase puts work lights, leak-detection inspection lights, ozone machines, HVAC construction tools and battery chargers under the company’s distribution.
Cliplight director of sales and marketing Linda Appler said the sale will benefit her company’s existing customers.
“DiversiTech has an enviable market-leading position and a true vision for the future,” she said. “We’re excited to join a team that has an expansive sales force, key customer access, excellent financial strength and other superior operational capabilities. The future looks very bright with the combination of our two companies.”
