Commercial insurance provider CNA has given HVAC construction company Emcor Group Inc. its third Chairman’s Award.
The honor recognizes Emcor’s efforts in ensuring good workplace safety practices in the mechanical construction industry. The award was given to Emcor President-CEO Tony Guzzi, and David Copley, Emcor’s vice president of safety and quality management, at Emcor’s recent safety meeting in Orlando, Florida.
“CNA is proud to recognize Emcor as a three-time CNA Chairman’s Award recipient for their exceptional safety record and commitment to employee well-being,” said Bill Boyd, senior vice president of risk control with CNA. “We first recognized Emcor with the CNA Chairman's Award in 2009 for their “Be There for Life” zero-injury program and again recognized Emcor in 2013 for their innovative “Changing Way We Work” program. Emcor’s ability to recognize and tackle industry problems head-on is one of the key reasons Emcor’s safety, quality and productivity performance consistently leads the industry, and why we’re excited to once again make them a CNA Chairman’s Award recipient.”
Guzzi thanked CNA for the award.
"We are extremely gratified to be recognized by CNA, once again, for our innovative approach to safety, quality, and productivity," he said. “Safety is a strategic imperative for Emcor and a cornerstone of our corporate culture. We are committed to the principle that safety is to be a focal point at each and every job site, and it starts at the top. Keeping our employees safe is a tremendous part of who we are and what we do.”
