Midwest Tool & Cutlery is donating $2 from each pair of its special-edition Midwest Snips sold to a charity benefiting military veterans.
For every set of commemorative snips sold between July 4 and Nov. 11 — Veterans Day — Midwest will donate $2 to Homes for Our Troops, a charity that provides accessible housing to veterans injured in the line of duty.
The idea came from watching the efforts of HVAC construction wholesaler group the Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International to raise money for HOFT, according to national sales manager for the sheet metal products toolmaker, Chuck Loparo.
“We watched with great interest as HARDI served the troops through donations over the last couple of years. That truly inspired us to show our passion and gratitude for their service. In particular, HFOT aims to help rebuild lives by building mortgage-free homes for the severely injured veterans. We couldn’t think of a more worthy cause to support.”
The limited-edition snips have special etchings and packaging, and like all Midwest Snips, are U.S. made.
