U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) visited Johnstone Supply’s Cincinnati location July 28 to discuss new overtime regulations, workforce issues and challenges small businesses face.
“It was great to host a member of Congress who understands the challenges that the business community faces on a firsthand basis,” said Greg Grimme, owner of Johnstone Supply in Cincinnati. “The fact that he has experience signing the front end of a check and knows the impact of ever-changing rules and regulations is a tremendous asset for the 8th District and Congress.”
Johnstone Supply, a member of the Heating, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International, gathered its managers to discuss regulatory issues affecting small businesses with Davidson.
Davidson, a former military officer and Army ranger who took former House Speaker John Boehner’s seat, had experience working at a family-owned manufacturing business before starting his own company.
“I appreciated the opportunity to visit Johnstone Supply and meet with their business leaders,” Davidson said. “As a small-business owner myself, I share their concerns about government regulations making it harder than ever to run a business. I look forward to applying what I learned in our valuable discussions as I work to make Ohio a place for businesses to thrive.”
