The Air Movement and Control Association International held a technical seminar Dec. 10, 2016, in partnership with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers’ Oryx chapter.
The Middle East Air-Systems Engineering Seminar took place in Doha, Qatar, and provided instruction to more than 200 engineers who work for agencies and organizations in the region.
“To host an event in Qatar with over 200 attendees during the weekend shows the desire for the quality content that AMCA and ASHRAE deliver,” said Mark Stevens, AMCA International’s executive director. “AMCA’s partnership with ASHRAE Oryx chapter provides the perfect platform for attendees, sponsors and associations to gather and drive forward the air systems industry in the Middle East and North Africa region.”
The seminar was sponsored by Maico Gulf, Ruskin Titus, Hira Walraven, Aerofoam, Multi-Wing and Hamman Industries & Co. Representatives from the industry gave presentations on topics such as sizing and selecting AMCA-certified louvers, and fan designs for tunnel-smoke exhaust.
“Undoubtedly, AMCA delivered a beautiful and enriching seminar experience,” said Fadi AbouJamra, president of ASHRAE’s Oryx chapter. “AMCA and ASHRAE Oryx have a promising partnership that we would like to see extended in the future.”
