HVAC market thermostat and controls manufacturer Telkonet Inc. introduced what it says is among the first devices able to control variable-refrigerant-flow systems at last week’s AHR Expo in Las Vegas.

The EcoSmart VRF Controller helps maximize the green HVAC efficiency of VRF systems, officials said.

“The EcoSmart platform is more flexible than most, allowing us to more quickly integrate and adapt to the newest technologies on the market and stay ahead of our customers’ business needs,” said Telkonet President and CEO Jason Tienor. “The EcoSmart VRF Controller is one of the latest ways to incorporate the EcoSmart platform into energy-management solutions.”

The controller works with Internet-enabled equipment from makers such as Trane and Friedrich, Telkonet officials said.
