A group involved in green HVAC and HVAC construction is expressing disappointment at President Donald Trump’s budget proposal, which would cut programs at the Energy Department and Environmental Protection Agency.
The Home Performance Coalition said many federal programs, such as weatherization assistance, help low-income Americans save energy and money. Making cuts would hurt the people the president and promised to help, the coalition said.
“As an alliance of like-minded organizations working to ensure all homes are healthy, comfortable and energy efficient, we strongly disagree with these cuts that affect the most vulnerable Americans,” the association said in a statement. “Our overarching mission is to create efficient and sustainable homes and communities, for all Americans, particularly low-income Americans. Therefore we urge the president to work with Congress to shape a common sense budget that protects our homes, families and communities.”
