Johnson Controls has purchased Triatek, a maker of airflow products such as valves, fume hood controls and room pressure control devices. Terms were not disclosed.

Tyler Smith, Johnson Controls’ specialty products general manager, said the company’s products fit in with Johnson Controls’ HVAC lineup.

“Environments where critical treatments or research are conducted, like health care facilities and laboratories, need to meet stringent air quality requirements,” he said. “With the acquisition of the Triatek portfolio we are able to bundle Triatek products with our current building automation and HVAC products and services to provide complete end-to-end solutions for critical spaces.”

Triatek CEO Jim Hall said the deal will expose more people to his company’s products.

“This acquisition not only gives Johnson Controls leverage to better serve customers in the building automation and HVAC markets, but it also opens up the Triatek portfolio of innovative HVAC airflow solutions to a broader set of customers in a wider range of facilities,” Hall said.
