Malco Products, SBC, the nation’s leading manufacturer of high-quality, American-made tools for the HVAC trade (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), today announced that its president and CEO Mardon Quandt was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Hand Tools Institute. He will serve a three-year term that ends in December 2021.
“The HTI provides excellent opportunities for education, market research and insight into governmental regulations for our industry, and I look forward to helping further its mission amongst its members and hand tool users as a whole,” Quandt said about the appointment.
Quandt has served as Malco’s president since 2013, and became the company’s CEO in 2015. He has held various positions within the company over his 24-year tenure, including demand planner, sales leader, plant manager, director of operations and general manager.
Quandt also recently oversaw Malco’s expansion to a new facility in DeWitt, Neb., where in October 2018 the company began production on a new product line called Eagle Grip, starting with locking pliers.
The Hand Tools Institute, founded in 1935, is the trade association of North American manufacturers of non-powered hand tools and toolboxes. The Institute aims to promote and further the interests of its members relative to manufacturing, safety standardization, international trade and government relations. Malco has been a member of the Hand Tools Institute since 2006.
