Memphis, Tenn. — American Residential Services (ARS/Rescue Rooter), a provider of HVAC and plumbing services, has acquired San Diego-based of Tarpy Plumbing, Heating & Air.

Tarpy was founded in 2007 and employs about 50 people. The company provides residential heating, cooling, and plumbing services throughout Southern California and maintains a fleet of 40 service, installation, and sales vehicles.
