While Ashley Davis is COO at Lawson Air Conditioning and Plumbing, in reality she wears a few different hats.
She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a BA in finance in 2018, but while she was in school, she started working part-time at Lawson as an administrative assistant.
“My now-husband, Travis, and I had just started dating about six months prior to me coming on at the company, and his grandfather, L.D. Lawson, started the business in 1946 after returning home from World War II,” Davis said. “My in-laws Debbie Lawson Davis and Vince Davis are the second-generation ownership of Lawson Air Conditioning & Plumbing, and my husband and I will be the third generation.”
Davis really shined during the recent COVID pandemic; she wrote and implemented the company’s COVID policies and protocols.
“When we were deemed as an essential business, it was critical for me to be up to speed on all CDC guidelines and communicate to our team and customers constantly,” Davis said. “Many of our team looked to me for the answers during the uncharted territories of a pandemic, and it was a challenge I didn’t back down from. Our entire team was quick to respond and did everything in our power to safely serve our community. We were extremely fortunate to have been successfully pivoting to keep our team and customers safe.”
Last year, Davis worked with Conditioned Air Association of Georgia to launch a scholarship for students enrolling in HVAC programs. With the company’s relationship with the schools, they have been able to double their workforce.
