Bryan Duffield
Sales and business were always in Bryan Duffield’s calling. However, the HVAC industry was not something he daydreamed about.
“I started in the HVAC industry 12 years ago trying to help my in-law’s 60-year-old residential business,” Duffield said. “I spent the first 18 months in the industry as an unpaid volunteer, as we just didn’t have the cash flow to pay me. My father-in-law was the lifeblood of the company, and since his passing roughly a year prior to my involvement, the business was bleeding money. I learned by asking questions and spending time alongside my foreman, whether selling jobs, performing service, or doing an install. My mother-in-law was looking at closing the doors; however, we were able to turn the business around and sell it three years later.”
Upon the business selling, Duffield went to work for Goodman Distribution as a territory sales manager in the northern Delaware market. He received numerous regional and divisional sales awards, growing his market from $2 million to $12 million.
His abilities were noticed, and he became the area sales manager of the Philadelphia region for Goodman Distribution. In that leadership role, Bryan was able to elevate the regional sales from $70 million to $120 million across a 4-year span.
In the beginning of 2022, Bryan took on the role of director of business development for the newly realigned Daikin Comfort Technologies Inc. He is currently supporting the northeast quarter of the country across all Daikin, Amana, and Goodman brands for both company-owned distribution and independently-owned distribution partners. Duffield’s team is leading the initiatives throughout the division in the area of inverterization, electrification, and R-32 expansion.
