Jesse Fishman began his career in consulting before transitioning to Johnstone Supply in 2014. In 2016, he played a key role in establishing the sales department and served as a salesman for two years. As the top performer, he consistently exceeded quota targets each year.
In 2018, Fishman was promoted to the position of director of operations. He assumed responsibility for various aspects, including ensuring adherence to processes by all branch personnel, developing strategic growth plans for different territories, providing leadership training, and overseeing the acquisition of four new locations.
In March 2020, he was appointed as the CEO of the company. As the CEO, his responsibilities expanded significantly. He spearheaded the development of the 5-3-1 business plan each calendar year and made major corporate decisions.
Fishman took charge of real estate management, initiated a change in the major equipment line that led to growth, divided company territories into three regions for improved logistics, and hired additional regional managers. He orchestrated the transition from a cooperative (COOP) model to a franchise model. Managing banking relationships, he successfully renegotiated loans and covenants. Additionally, Fishman established a tech services department to further enhance offerings and meet customer needs.
Under Fishman’s leadership, he implemented a culture change within the organization, and the company has experienced remarkable growth of 80.4% within a span of two years — although Fishman is quick to point out that the fantastic team around him helps get those results.
Fishman also started Melt Media, which is a marketing and consulting company that focuses on HVAC contractors. The company’s sole focus is to help contractors build a reputable brand and to structure their company to maximize its potential.
