With more than a decade of experience, Sean Kelleher serves as the director of engineering for HVAC press fitting manufacturer Rapid Locking System (RLS).
Kelleher knew from a young age that he wanted to be an engineer. He joined Cerro Flow Products in 2012 as a research and development engineer, where his career quickly took off. During his start as Cerro, at only 24 years old, Kelleher was responsible for designing and testing the very first HVAC press fittings and jaws for the company now known as Rapid Locking System (RLS). Most recently, Kelleher spearheaded the research and development of RLS’ XL press fittings line, which offers the large size range of HVAC press fittings.
Now serving as the director of engineering at RLS, Kelleher’s primary responsibilities include overseeing all product research, development and testing, and the development of training materials. However, being the head of a lean team, Kelleher consistently steps up to provide support in other departments throughout the company when needed, such as shipping and customer service.
Due in huge part to Kelleher’s dedication to HVAC innovation, over 15 million RLS press fittings have been installed globally since the company’s official launch in 2015. Notable facilities where RLS press fittings have been installed include Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the Smithsonian Libraries.
“I want to continue providing innovative joining (press) solutions to the industry, which allows end users to install systems in safe and efficient ways,” Kelleher said.
