XENIA, Ohio — Christian Rattin is the new CEO at Five Star Home Services, a network of residential service companies throughout Central and Southwest Ohio.

Rattin, who had been company president, is taking the helm effective immediately, former CEO Kip Morris announced in a press release. Five Star offers services that include HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.

Founded in Pickerington, Ohio, in 1972 by Howard Morris Sr. as a mom-and-pop shop, Five Star has been run by the Morris family for more than 50 years. Under the leadership of brothers Kip and Brett Morris, Five Star has grown to more than 200 employees with a presence in the Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati markets.

The Morris brothers are also involved in a wide range of charitable and nonprofit work, including the founding of the Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative at the former Greene County Career Center in Xenia.

Moving forward, the goal is to continue to grow the company under Rattin and expand charitable efforts, the press release said.

“I truly feel, as CEO, I’ve taken this company as far as I can,” Morris said during an all-company meeting Tuesday. “Christian has embraced our company’s values. I truly believe he will take the company to new heights. We have never been in a better place.”

Rattin joined the company several years ago and has 20-plus years of sales experience and 15 years of management experience, along with many years of experience in the HVAC industry. As a company with the slogan “Profit On Purpose,” a phrase Rattin coined last year, Five Star donates 5% of its profits toward causes such as the Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative, a treatment program for substance abuse as well as a career training center.

Meanwhile, the company’s majority owners, including Kip Morris, Brett Morris, and Chris Adams, will form a board of directors for Five Star Home Services, with two more members to be announced, who will help with additional growth. Kip Morris will be chairman of the board.

“I am honored to lead this incredible team and continue the legacy of excellence that Kip and Brett have established,” Rattin said. “We look forward to building a future where Five Star Home Services is not just a name but a symbol of positive change and unwavering commitment to our purpose and our communities.”
