According to a recent report from Bloomberg News, Johnson Controls is considering selling some of its HVAC assets, valued at as much as $5 billion. The report said that the sale could include most of Johnson Control’s York International operations, which the company acquired in 2005. Additionally, Johnson Controls is considering selling the majority of its Air Distribution Technologies business which they bought in 2014 for $1.6 billion. The company stated that sales were flat compared to the prior year, reporting $6.1 billion in sales, seeing an organic decline of 1%. The statement Johnson Controls shared with The NEWS included, “We have been transforming the company into a comprehensive solutions provider for commercial buildings. As part of this transformation, we are in the early stages of a strategic review of our non-commercial product businesses. We remain excited about our future and are confident we are on the right path to simplify our portfolio, drive margin expansion, and deliver consistent cash flow while serving our customers in the best way possible.”
