MEMPHIS, Tenn. — EvergreenUV, the manufacturer of the Lumalier ultraviolet germicidal products, has announced the employee-led purchase of the company from United Enertech Holdings (UEH).
UEH had acquired a controlling interest in EvergreenUV at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The decision to sell EvergreenUV was a difficult but mutually beneficial one based, in part, on rapidly changing demand and the advanced technology requirements of the UV-C industry that no longer complement the core business strategies of UEH and its collective companies, a press release from EvergreenUV said.
With the sale, EvergreenUV’s ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) products will continue to provide solutions that lead to safe and healthy living conditions for millions of people worldwide, the company said.
The sale of EvergreenUV returns ownership to president David Skelton. Skelton has more than 45 years of manufacturing and marketing experience and is an active member of ASHRAE as well as the past chairman of ASHRAE’s TC 2.9 committee on ultraviolet air and surface disinfection, the press release said.
“The UV industry is experiencing explosive growth in indoor air quality, pathogen control, energy savings, and decarbonization,” Skelton said. “We are committed to bringing client-driven, science-based products to market with the focus on the needs of the ever-changing marketplace. This is a strategy that positions us to continue to lead the industry. We are excited about the future.”
