COSTA MESA, Calif. — Building controls manufacturer Hailin Controls of China has announced a partnership with J2 Innovations, a Siemens company, to develop new digital building controls on J2’s FIN Framework.

FIN Framework is an open-software framework that enables OEMs to create building automation and internet of things (IoT) applications quickly and efficiently, according to a J2 blog post.

The Beijing-based Hailin has a footprint in more than 60 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and South America, and has sold more than 8 million controls.

“Our aim is to make buildings more energy efficient, healthy, and comfortable, and the ability for us to build smart products using FIN supports not only effective building management but also end-user operational efficiency,” said Li Siyang, deputy general manager of Hailin Controls.

Hailin sees FIN Framework as an enabler of technology in smart buildings, and something that will help Hailin provide more solutions to customers and win market share in building automation, the blog post said. Hailin will be able to develop building products that give users complete capability to manage building technologies through a browser, the post said.

"By combining our companies’ expertise, we can help Hailin Controls grow its building automation portfolio,” said Dave Dai, J2 China general manager at J2 Innovations.
