Another refrigerant transition is occurring for the HVAC industry. HFCs such as R-410A and R-404A are being phased down in favor of new, lower-GWP refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32.
These new refrigerants come with a bunch of questions from HVAC contractors. The most common concern is the fact that this is a shift to A2L refrigerants which are classified as mildly flammable. Adam Kimmel from Koura stops by the podcast to answer all the questions about this transition. Topics include storage of the new refrigerants, supply of the old refrigerant, and what conversations contractors should be having with their customers.
