ALBANY, N.Y. — The Grasshopper Group, a new venture, plans to unite residential home service companies across the Northeast, beginning with its acquisition of Hummingbird Heating & Cooling in Syracuse, New York.
This initiative marks the first women-owned and -led group of its kind in the U.S., and emphasizes long-term sustainability and profitability over short-term revenue growth, according to a press release from Grassshopper Group.
Grasshopper Group founder Amanda Triolo, at just 31, was recognized by The ACHR NEWS in 2022 as one of its 40 Under 40 honorees. She was named to the Albany Business Review’s 40 Under 40 in 2023, received the Power 50 award from the same magazine in 2024, and was named Woman of the Year by the E3 Women’s Organization in 2023.
Triolo’s leadership at Grasshopper Heating & Cooling drove business growth while setting new standards for workplace culture, the press release said. Grasshopper Heating & Cooling was named one of the Best Places to Work by the Albany Business Review for two consecutive years, and was also named Corporate Partner of the Year by Girls Inc.
Hummingbird Heating & Cooling provides comprehensive residential HVAC services across Upstate New York. Hummingbird is known for a commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, Grasshopper Group’s press release said.
“We are excited to join The Grasshopper Group,” said Chad Terrinoni, CEO of Hummingbird. “The alignment of our values with Grasshopper’s mission is powerful. Together, we look forward to achieving new heights and driving forward progress. We've had the pleasure of having Amanda as a friend and a mentor for a few years now, and to be able to work alongside her on this new venture will just be incredible for us!”
