Rheem has announced its intent to acquire Nortek Global HVAC (NGH), a leading manufacturer of air conditioning products, from Madison Industries. NGH is based in O’Fallon, Missouri, with manufacturing in Saltillo, Mexico, and a distribution center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
“Nortek Global HVAC has a history of delivering market-leading innovations going back over 100 years. Like Rheem, NGH has a collaborative culture with an unwavering commitment to the customer,” said Mike Branson, president of Global Air at Rheem. “NGH has a remarkable team that brings unique products, operational capabilities, and market channels to complement Rheem’s expanding Air and Water businesses.”
Upon the close of the acquisition—which is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals—NGH will join Rheem’s Global Air division.
NGH’s brand lines include Frigidaire, Maytag, Miller, Broan, Gibson, Intertherm, Partner’s Choice, and other private labels.
“In 1919, then known as the International Oil Heating Company, we helped St. Louis, Missouri, breathe easier by introducing oil-burning heaters to help alleviate the pollution that covered the city in a cloud of smoke,” NGH’s website states. “Since then, our history has been shaped by groundbreaking HVAC solutions. From developing the first oil heater and sealed combustion furnace for manufactured housing to introducing an online ordering system when most people still thought fax machines were a pretty novel invention. So you could say that we’ve built a pretty extensive legacy of innovation on our way to becoming the best HVAC manufacturer.”
Nortek was acquired by Madison Industries in 2021 and relaunched as NGH in 2022.
