CHANNAHON, Ill. — Diversified CPC International, a producer and distributor of propellants, hydrocarbon refrigerants, and specialty gas products, has opened a processing plant in Beaumont, Texas.

The facility features proprietary technology and resources to further the company’s ability to produce, test, certify, and distribute high-purity products to a variety of industries, a press release from the company said.

Construction began in 2020 and has been carried out in phases to equip the plant with the latest manufacturing and safety technology, the press release said. The plant is Diversified CPC’s second major natural gas liquids (NGL) refrigerants and high-purity hydrocarbons production and distribution facility; the company’s flagship plant is in Channahon, Illinois.

“Over the last several years we’ve seen an increase in demand for high-purity hydrocarbon gases and blends,” said David Burks, president and CEO of Diversified CPC. “Manufacturers realize the powerful role purity plays in their applications. Our products help them improve sustainability, quality, and performance while reducing costs.”

The new facility features an analytical lab, a rail distribution terminal with access to two Class 1 railroads, extensive bulk storage, and a sophisticated safety system.

“The Beaumont site was chosen for its proximity to our Gulf Coast customer base, access to NGL pipelines, daily rail switching by Iron Horse Terminals (IHT) that operates one of the largest rail terminals in the Gulf Coast region, and ample rail storage opportunities both onsite and at IHT,” said Bill Frauenheim, vice president of operations for Diversified CPC.

The plant has a two-tower, high-purity NGL fractionation system, a process heater, molecular sieve processing towers, process gas refrigeration systems, and mercury-removal units. It features a large-scale fire- protection system designed to supply 11,000 gallons per minute from an onsite reservoir.
