Clifton Park, NY, February 2, 2009-SIXNET, a manufacturer of innovative, open, wireless, and wired data products, today announced that Hilton Nicholson has joined the company as president and CEO. Mr. Nicholson brings SIXNET more than 25 years of management experience with networking and telecommunications equipment manufacturers. He succeeds former CEO Steve Schoenberg, who will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors.
“Increasing productivity depends more than ever on leading-edge IP-based switching, automation and wireless systems and Hilton Nicholson is just the person to expand SIXNET’s markets and visibility around the world,” said Steve Schoenberg.
Hilton Nicholson comes to SIXNET from ADC, where he was most recently president of the Network Solutions Business Unit. Prior to joining ADC, he was senior vice president of Product Operations at 3Com, and he previously served as vice president and general manager of Lucent Technologies’ Core Switching and Routing Division. Nicholson has also held a variety of technical, marketing, strategic planning and new business development positions at AT&T. He holds a BSEE from Louisiana Tech University, a MSEE from Clemson University, and an MBA from Duke University.
“SIXNET is a profitable industry leader in hardened switching, automation and wireless systems,” said Nicholson. “I look forward to continuing Steve Schoenberg’s vision of building a global market-leading company in hardened systems for industrial, government and wireless markets alongside the company’s financial partners, Riverside Partners and American Capital Ltd.”
