The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA) has a new president. Tom Martin, who is the president of Cleveland-based T.H. Martin, Inc., is taking the reins of the trade group. He's got a long history with the organization and has been involved in a lot of its initiatives.

Martin has sat on a bunch of SMACNA's committees, like the ones for contractor manuals, mega-projects, and market recovery. He's also been president of the Cleveland chapter for 10 years. On top of that, he's been active in pushing for changes to apprenticeship laws, pension policies, and rules about how much workers should get paid.

Aaron Hilger, the CEO of SMACNA, said Martin is a leader who thinks about the future. He's excited to see what Martin will do. Martin himself said he's honored to be president and wants to keep building on what the people before him did. He wants to get the group more involved in politics and show why trade jobs are important. He thinks this will help the industry and its workers in the long run.

A few other people in the group got new jobs too. Todd Hill is now in line to be president after Martin. Scott Vidimos is the new secretary and treasurer. Joseph Samia is vice president, and Carol Duncan, the old president, has a new title.

The group will share more news from its yearly meeting in its newsletter and other messages to members.
