DALLAS — Service Experts participated in the milestone 40th season of Lifetime TV’s Military Makeover with Montel, a home-improvement series that assists military families by completing home makeovers.

The latest makeover, with hosts Montel Williams, Art Edmonds, and Jennifer Bertrand, was at the home of retired U.S. Marines Sgt. Kevin Jones, a veteran and family man who dedicated 12 years to the Marines, a press release from Service Experts said. The makeover took place in Duncanville, Texas, south of Dallas.

“It’s an honor to play a part in the meaningful work being completed by the Military Makeover team, and we were thrilled to have the 40th season in our own back yard here in North Texas,” said Jackie Vayo, senior director of talent management and development at Service Experts, who was among the “boots on the ground” during the makeover. “Many of our Service Experts employees are veterans themselves, and we’re deeply committed to supporting the military community through our ongoing partnerships with programs like Hiring Our Heroes.”

Jones’ deployments in Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield brought him face to face with the stark realities of combat, and he sustained injuries, including a right ankle condition, a twisted right foot, and post-traumatic stress disorder, the press release said. Following his honorable discharge, Jones has worked with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, becoming an advocate for veterans, helping them navigate the often complex process of accessing benefits. He and his wife, Francesca, have been married for 26 years and have a daughter, Kelsey.

Service Experts installed a 50-gallon A.O. Smith Signature 100 water heater in the Jones home to ensure optimum hot water delivery. Additionally, members of the volunteer team put some of the finishing touches on the makeover, such as building furniture, and participated in the "big reveal" for the Jones family.

While in town for the renovation, Edmonds visited Service Experts’ Richardson, Texas, headquarters to see a model of The Home of the Future, which showcases the energy-saving technologies and services that are transforming homes, the press release said.

This was Service Experts’ third renovation partnership with Military Makeover. The HVAC company has more than 100 locations across 31 U.S. states to help homeowners, like the Joneses, make their homes havens of comfort, well-being, and energy efficiency, the company said.
