This compressor floodback-migration alarm helps limit compressor damage by detecting liquid refrigerant floodback conditions. It includes normally closed dry contacts for opening the compressor control circuit or pumpdown solenoid circuit. A separate normally open dry contact relay initiates an alarm after a time delay. The unit protects the compressor from spring startup damage by detecting liquid refrigerant migration into the compressor crankcase during the off cycle. It prevents compressor startup under migration conditions until manual reset.
