ATLANTA, GA — ASHRAE Standard 90.1-1999, “Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings,” which provides minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design of buildings, will be presented in “The Next Generation of Commercial Building Energy Standards,” to be held and broadcast at 2 p.m. on Sept. 12, 2000.

The broadcast will describe key new provisions in the standard for building envelope, mechanical, and lighting energy systems. The broadcast is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Standards and Guidelines Program, and will be cosponsored by ASHRAE and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
