Two families in Holliston, MA, are having a warmer, happier winter, thanks to a partnership between Rodenhiser Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Holliston, and the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC), a Framingham-based anti-poverty agency. Rodenhiser Companies installed a new $5,000 heating system for a family headed by a woman suffering from cancer. Additionally, Rodenhiser’s employees donated toys, clothing, a Christmas dinner, and $450 to another family through a Holiday Helper Program.
ServiceMaster (Downers Grove, IL) reports year-end earned revenues of $5.9 billion, up 5% from one year ago. Excluding the impact of discontinued and sold operations, earned revenue growth for the year was 9%, said the company. Customer level revenue, which includes revenue of ServiceMaster franchisees and international partners, was up 5% to $7.7 billion, it reported. Net income, excluding non-recurring items, declined 18% from one year ago to $185 million. Earnings per share, on the same basis, were $0.61, down 15% from 1999. Cash flow from operations for the year was $401 million, reflecting continued year-over-year improvement, said the company.
Also, the company has adopted a change in the way it will report its business segments. Lawn care and landscape services will be reported as the TruGreen segment. Pest and termite services will be reported as the Terminix segment. Management services to healthcare, education, and business and industry will be reported as the Management Services segment. The business units of American Home Shield, ARS/Rescue Rooter, ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids, Furniture Medic, and AmeriSpec will be reported as the Home Maintenance and Improvement segment. The final segment, Other Operations, includes all the company’s international operations, as well as its employer services group and the e-commerce initiative WeServeHomes.com.
CMS Viron Energy Services (Kansas City, MO) announces it has been awarded a contract from Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN) to perform facility upgrades worth $2 million dollars.
