The Odyssey is a gas fireplace that uses patent-pending technology to provide woodburning capability, says the company. With Btu input of 75,000, the unit offers operable bi-fold doors in black, antique brass, polished brass, or stainless steel trim. The 36-in. brick-to-brick opening complements its firebox and adds to the traditional look of the unit, the company says. Non-combustible finishing materials can be brought right up to the firebox opening, giving the unit the look of a masonry fireplace, says the manufacturer. The removable hearth pan is designed to simplify conversion to a woodburning fireplace.
