• Johns Manville Corporation (JM) (Denver, CO) has completed the previously announced sale of its monofilament business to Teijin Limited (Tokyo, Japan). The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
  • The CII Division of CII Technologies, Inc. (Asheville, NC), a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance relays and solenoids, has received the large manufacturer of the year award from the Asheville, NC, Chamber of Commerce. This leadership award, in its tenth year, is given to a manufacturer that has made outstanding contributions to the community, product innovation, growth, productivity, and employee involvement.
  • Fedders Corporation (FJC) (Liberty Corner, NJ) a leading global manufacturer of air treatment products, including air conditioners, air cleaners, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, and thermal technology products, held its Annual Meeting of Stockholders and announced that first quarter sales reached $39 million. After the acquisitions of Trion, Envirco, Sun, and Koppel, the company reports sales of almost $410 million and EBITDA in excess of $58 million in fiscal 2000. Due to the cool summer, however, sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2001, which ends Nov. 30, 2000, are expected to reach approximately $39 million, off about 12 percent from prior year first quarter sales of $44.7 million.

  • Maxitrol Company (Southfield, MI) announces it has acquired the gas product lines of SCP, Inc. (Auburn, IN). The product lines purchased include the SCP gas pressure regulators and gas combination controls.
  • Robur Corporation (Evansville, IN), the manufacturer of servel gas-fired absorption chillers, has recently appointed Midwest Machinery (St. Louis, MO) as its representative for the eastern Missouri and central/southern Illinois markets.
