Testing organizations are independent of NATE and fall into the following categories: hvac equipment distributors, schools/trainers, chapters of national trade associations, national alliances, contractors, manufacturers, utilities, and even NATE at national trade shows.
NATE recently analyzed testing activity in 2001 and found that John Siegerson of O’Connor Company, a distributor in Omaha, tops the list of the most exam sales. Siegerson attributes the sales to the company’s joint effort with the Nebraska public utilities to foster technician excellence.
The wholesaler along with the Nebraska utilities was able to hold six testing sessions with 142 exams taken.
“I appreciate the efforts of all organizations that held a NATE exam session, and want to give special recognition to the individuals representing the organizations who in 2001 went the extra mile,” said Rex Boynton, NATE president.
Also to make the list this year was Portland General Electric. The utility offered two sessions, which accommodated 25 test-takers.
