As a result of exhibitor and attendee feedback from the 2004 show, the ISH North America educational program will have several changes. To create the opportunity for more in-depth discussion within each scheduled topic, the length of each seminar has been extended to 90 minutes from the 60 minute length offered in 2004.
To reduce the overlap of seminar times and exhibit hours, five seminar time slots will be available over the three-day event. Thursday and Friday, September 28 and 29, seminars will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 30, the final show day, only the morning time slot will be offered. The reduction in overlap is designed to allow more time for attendees to explore products on the show floor and stay abreast of new product introductions while networking with manufacturers.
With direction and input from the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), ISH North America has added the code track to address the needs of show attendees. Topics include an overview of the updates and changes within the 2006 Uniform Mechanical Code and 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code; a seminar on the relationship between plumbing codes, product standards, and product approval; another on the state of plumbing & mechanical codes, locally and worldwide, as well as several additional topics addressing code issues and information.
ISH North America will be held in conjunction with the annual conventions of IAPMO, as well as the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association, American Supply Association, and Radiant Panel Association. In addition, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating will play host to its members at a Maple Leaf Reception.
