When Kiana of Mold Dog Detectors LLC picks up the scent of mold, she will sit. While sitting, she points her head or paws toward the mold source. She is then rewarded with praise and dog food. Her services cost a flat fee of $395 for a one-story house or about 25 cents a foot for larger homes and commercial buildings.

Bill Whitstine, Kiana's trainer, got into mold training approximately six years ago when representatives from insurance companies asked for his help.
