LONGWOOD, FL — S. I. Goldman Co./Comfort Systems USA, a mechanical contractor, has been honored by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) with its Construction Safety Excellence Award.

This is the third year AGC has presented the award. It is based on a company’s safety program and considers a lost workday rate 25% lower than the industry average, worker training, and program innovation.

Goldman implemented its Safety Bonus and Training Program about 10 years ago and has won nine other safety awards.

“The safety of our staff is the number one priority and our program’s success is a reflection of that corporate dedication,” said John Martin, president and chief executive officer.

Founded in 1959 in central Florida, the company is owned by Comfort Systems USA. Operating divisions of the company are located in Longwood, Fort Myers, Lakeland, Tampa, and Deerfield Beach. The company has a staff of more than 300.
