The HVAC Contractor of the Year award is presented to the contractor who best represents the ideals of the profession. Nominees are judged on professionalism, merchandising and management skills, innovative plumbing techniques, trade involvement, and community service.
Newman is an active member of PHCC Iowa, previously serving as president, board member, and an education committee participant. He is a founder, past president, and current secretary for the Northwest Iowa PHCC local chapter. He also serves on the city of Spirit Lake Plumbing Advisory Board, and has sponsored and hosted PHCC-affiliated code training for the City of Spirit Lake.
An active proponent of membership in PHCC, Newman currently is a member of the Horizon Club, a PHCC membership development committee. He previously served on the national Membership Marketing Committee. He also currently is a member of Quality Service Contractors, a PHCC enhanced service group for service and repair contractors.
Outside of PHCC, Newman has sponsored and hosted training for area contractors on refrigerant certification, code familiarization, and apprenticeship programs.
