There are currently more than 21,000 NATE-certified technicians throughout North America, but only a handful of contractors have 100 percent of their technician workforce certified, according to the organization.
"NATE certification is the industry standard for certification," said Carl Smith, director of marketing and public relations for NATE.
"Manufacturers, contractors, wholesalers, the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA and its Energy Star® Program, trade associations, trainers, and utilities nationwide support this standard of HVAC excellence."
"We believe it's important for all of our service and installation technicians to be NATE-certified," said Dean West of Morris Mechanical.
"NATE certification lets customers know we're sending out only the best to service their home's comfort system. Our NATE-certified technicians have proven their knowledge of heating and cooling."
