UVDI first received ISO 9001:1994 certification in 1997, and then in 2003 was certified to the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. It has since passed four surveillance audits with no minor or major non-conformances.
Last year the company said it invested in training the majority of its employees in Six Sigma processes. Six Sigma is broadly recognized as one of the world's most successful business improvement processes. Its users include highly respected companies like Johnson Controls, General Electric, Ford, Caterpillar, DuPont, and Kodak. Six Sigma applies mathematical and scientific techniques to improve business systems and help take manufacturing and the delivery of services to the highest levels of quality.
UVDI currently has four ASQ-certified Six Sigma Black Belts (CSSBB) and 16 certified Six Sigma Green Belts.
According to Dan Goetz, president of UVDI and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, "The ISO 9001:2000 certification and Six Sigma process illustrate our commitment to providing an environment of continuous quality improvement that can be passed on to our customers through innovative, high quality, value driven products and services."
