In a random drawing, 200 customers won a free Richard Petty Driving Experience which included trips around the Daytona track with a professional driver at speeds up to 175 mph.
More than 95 Hughes vendors attended the event and showcased their products.
“I can’t commend our staff and vendors enough for the hard work that went into organizing such a first-class event,” said Tom Morgan, Hughes president and CEO. “You just can’t appreciate the energy at one of these events until your experience it on a personal level. All of our customers, vendors, and employees are excited about celebrating our 75 years in business. Each and every one of them plays an important part in helping us raise the bar in our industry.”
One of the wholesaler’s customers, Darryl Carter, president of Electrico Inc., said, “This was wonderful. I love Daytona, so just coming down here provides a certain ‘awe.’ Hughes is a great company.”
Other cities slated for anniversary festivals during 2003 are Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas/Fort Worth; Denver; Ft. Myers/Naples, Fla.; Houston; Miami; Phoenix; and Washington.
Hughes was formed in 1928. It now distributes construction and infrastructure materials through more than 450 locations in 34 states.
