Hedley will provide the ins and outs of the new construction contracting business from a general contractor's/builder's perspective. He'll show how the preliminary project budget is established, how the architect and owner interact with the builder, and how the different types of contracts and project financing work.
Participants also will walk through the preconstruction phase, estimating, bidding, reviewing bids, negotiating, and awarding subcontracts.
In another seminar, titled "Profit-Driven Leadership - How to Get Your People to Do What You Want them to Do," Hedley will give advice on how to get employees to do things better and perform at levels they don't think possible, using motivation, recognition, and praise.
"Hot topic" roundtables on construction industry topics, complete with a "show and tell" format, also will occur both days of the meeting. A "Contractor Spotlight," which is a look into the inner operations of a CCA member's company, also will be featured at the meeting.
