INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis-based manufacturers Continental Chillers LLC and ICOR International Inc. have joined forces to provide environmentally friendly, non-ozone depleting systems for air conditioning, process cooling, and commercial/industrial refrigeration.

Continental, which has offered quality factory-built equipment tailored to the needs of its customers for the past two decades, has now fully implemented the engineering changes necessary for a cost-effective product line without the use of R-22. With the cooperation of ICOR International, Continental has developed its "E-Line" chillers and condensing units, utilizing ICOR's NU-22 refrigerant.

Continental chose NU-22 because it's comparable to R-22 in terms of performance across the full R-22 temperature range, nontoxic, nonflammable, and rated A1 by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Cost and energy efficient, NU-22 is compatible with standard mineral refrigeration oil, so there is no need to change lubricants to POE or any other oil.
