United Air Specialists offers its “Smokeeter” electrostatic air cleaners to accommodate both smokers and nonsmokers. This product is a self-contained, two-stage electrostatic precipitator that captures tobacco smoke, dust, and other airborne particles much like a magnet, according to the company.

As contaminated air is drawn through the unit, the particles are given a positive charge by the ionizer. The charged particles are then deposited on the collection plates as the air flows through the unit and clean air is recirculated back into the room, the company says.

Wall-mount units, flush-mount ceiling units, concealed systems, and system enhancements are available.
