Hiemenz joined Murphy Co. in 2002 as a member of the business development team. In his new position, Hiemenz oversees day-to-day operations of the company's sales and marketing department in St. Louis.

Hiemenz joined Murphy Co. after working as a fourth-generation principal at Donovan Industrial Supply Corp. in St. Louis, following its acquisition by Ferguson Enterprises, where he was senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Hiemenz is a member of the Associated General Contractors, the Design Build Institute of America, the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering, and the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers.
Founded in 1907, Murphy had fiscal year 2004 revenues of $163.26 million. Murphy performs mechanical contracting services for industrial, commercial, municipal, and institutional clients. With headquarters in St. Louis and a regional office in Denver, the firm employs about 600 people in St. Louis and more than 1,000 company-wide. Among its employees are union craft workers primarily from the AFL-CIO pipefitter, boilermaker, plumber, and sheet metal trade unions.
