PLAIN CITY, Ohio — Ranco North America, a manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment, announced its acquisition of Com-Trol, a Mansfield, Ohio-based maker of electronic control systems for commercial refrigeration. Com-Trol applications include supermarket, food service, and c-store refrigeration. According to Dale Barnhart, vice president and general manager of Ranco, “Com-Trol’s product mix complements our extensive range of discrete refrigeration controls, while Ranco’s global marketing strength provides new distribution reach for Com-Trol products and technology.” Com-Trol president Ralph Ridenour “will maintain an active role with the company,” according to a Ranco announcement.
