"Trane's ability to offer integrated HVAC solutions to meet the complex needs and requirements of a project the size of Reid Hospital was key in our selection process," said Brent Baumer, director of engineering, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services. "We've worked with Trane for nearly 40 years and their high quality, reliable solutions have repeatedly proven capable of delivering measurable results."
Trane's custom-designed solution for Reid Hospital includes air handlers for applications that require adherence to exacting standards in air quality, reliability, noise reduction, environmental responsibility, and ease of installation and maintenance. The units are manufactured to meet industry needs for greater flexibility and broader performance parameters while maintaining a lower total cost of ownership, says the company. The unit's thermal break construction prevents condensation build-up and provides improved moisture management capabilities.
Trane will provide its EarthWiseâ„¢ CenTraVacâ„¢ chillers, which use R-123, a refrigerant with very low global warming potential and near-zero ozone depletion potential.
It will also supply a two-year warranty agreement on labor and parts for the HVAC systems as well as a two-year preventive maintenance package for the CenTraVac chillers which includes seasonal checks and warranty services for individual products.
Reid Hospital is a not-for-profit 233-bed regional referral medical center serving east central Indiana and west central Ohio. The facility is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), the Indiana State Department of Health, Medicare/Medicaid, American Association of Blood Banks, and the American College of Surgeons Community Cancer Program. The health care services provider is constructing a 240-bed replacement facility less than two miles from the existing hospital - the $233,000,000 expansion will be completed in 2007.
