Tom Pierson, founder and CEO, accepted the award on behalf of TAS at the 2005 World Trade Gala sponsored by the Greater Houston Partnership honoring Ambassador Peter F. Allgeier, deputy U.S. trade representative, and the local U.S. congressional delegation. Annually, World Trade Associations around the world distinguish the efforts of their communities to promote peace and prosperity through international business.

The company has manufactured over 160 systems comprising a cooling capacity in excess of 360,000 tons in its 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility near downtown Houston.
Latest projects include both air- and water-cooled solutions for gas turbine power plants as part of Iraq's reconstruction efforts. Recent commercial applications include supplying 60,000 tons of chilling for a new 22 million-square-foot residential high-rise complex in the United Arab Emirates, one of the largest commercial chilling projects in the world. The company has projects in North America, South America, Australia, China, Africa, India, and the Middle East.
In accepting this recognition, Pierson noted, "TAS is thankful to be based in Houston, which is a great place for providing our business with an abundance of engineering and management talent, and a unique blend of skilled professionals from the power generation, refrigeration, packaging, and process industries which are all required for our packaged energy solutions. The port of Houston has been a great asset for shipping our products and we have found excellent partners in banking, international finance, risk management, logistics, and deal structuring as well as our local global customers, who have helped to make our international business ventures successful."
