According to PHCC, initial efforts will focus on the first year of the program, with subsequent updates for the remainder of the program to follow. Also, the new program will include an up-to-date curriculum, new apprentice workbooks, and updated National Guidelines for Apprenticeship Standards, to be approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training. TICO Enterprises has been contractors to write the new curriculum and facilitate a “Train the Trainer” seminar to familiarize instructors with the program.
“The comprehensive review and update will ensure that PHCC’s Plumbing Apprenticeship Program remains the premiere program available to individuals pursuing a plumbing career,” said Frank Maddalon, committee chair.
