The House Committee on Energy and Commerce recently passed five proposals that, collectively, would prevent the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) secretary from “prescribing or enforcing energy conservation standards” for dishwashers, refrigerators, clothes washers and dryers, and room a/c units “that are not cost-effective or technologically feasible.”

The Manual D procedures match duct system resistance (pressure drop) to blower performance (as defined by the HVAC system manufacturer’s blower performance tables). This delivers appropriate airflow to the rooms and spaces to be conditioned while ensuring that system airflow is compatible with the operating range of the HVAC equipment.
California, New Mexico, New York, and Hawaii are the first states to apply for federal rebate money for high-efficiency equipment. Twenty-three states have received funding to set up and manage rebate programs.
ACCA 2024 will feature educational sessions and speakers focused on topics such as workforce development, leadership, finance, and the technical aspects of the HVACR business.
