At a press conference on Monday at the AHR Expo, Meredith Emmerich, general manager, ductless and VRF systems, Carrier, announced the company’s expansion in the ductless business. Emmerich said she was “tasked to bolster Carrier’s ductless team,” which is co-located in Kennesaw, Georgia, with Automated Logic and AdvanTE³C.
Among several new products launching at the AHR Expo in Chicago, Taco Inc. highlighted its new Project Builder, an HVAC productivity tool, during a special press conference on Monday. Bryan Payne, Southeast regional sales manager, said the setup of Taco’s booth this year focuses on its customers and how best to support them.

Mitsubishi Electric celebrated at the AHR Expo in style Monday night at The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. More than 600 people registered for the event, well above average attendance for previous years, according to Kevin Miskewicz, senior manager, commercial marketing, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division.

Triatek celebrated 30 years in business Monday evening at McCormick & Schmick’s in downtown Chicago. The event, which featured drinks and hors d’oeuvres, was held as a thank-you to Triatek’s customers and representatives.

Bruce Fontaine, OEM sales manager, Armstrong Fluid Technology, said focusing on the design envelope will be the way of the future for energy efficient HVACR systems, and encouraged contractors to “take the load off.”
Once again, many industry folks capped off the first day of the AHR Expo by enjoying shrimp the size of your fist at the Taco event. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency and attracted a who’s who of industry professionals.
After a day of fighting the crowds on the AHR Expo floor, attendees of the hilmor Beercade event were ready to reclaim their youth. Attendees gathered at the Headquarters Beercade River North to play such games as Techmo Bowl, Burgertime, and Asteroids.
