Mid-City Supply invested $1.6 million in the renovation of its Michigan City, Indiana, location, expanding the new building to 18,600 square feet from its original 10,500 square feet, the company said.
Carrier University, established in 1929, will use its new training center to host more than 1,200 students annually for in-person courses. An additional 7,400 students will participate in virtual instruction, the company said.
The new space includes specialized areas for aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing equipment, and sections for prototyping, testing, and quality inspection.
The $121 million, 460,000-square-foot facility is expected to support more than 1,000 production jobs and more than 1,150 total new permanent jobs in northwest Mexico.
A new Danfoss production facility in Tennessee will allow the company to further regionalize its supply chain while also helping to meet the growing market demand for high-efficiency compressors in the North American market.
The Lancaster, Texas, location is its first facility outside Florida, and will help Cooper & Hunter more easily serve an increasing number of clients in the Midwest, the company said.
