Kathy Corr, director of strategic relationships for North American Technician Excellence (NATE), has announced her plans to retire at the end of March 2012. Corr has been a member of the NATE team since 2006.

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) recently announced its new certification program for variable refrigerant flow (VRF) equipment. “It’s the first certification program for this type of equipment in the world,” said Bill Tritsis, AHRI vice president, certification.
As of Jan. 1, 2012, all certification programs formerly under the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certification umbrella, ARI Performance Certified, GAMA Energy Efficiency Rating Certified, and the I=B=R program (for hydronic heating equipment), will be brought under one certification program and logo.
